Coricancha Mine

Coricancha mine is a 600-tpd underground narrow-vein poly-metallic mine with more than 60 years of operating history. Tierra Group’s team first involvement at Coricancha dates back to 2005 when the mine was under previous ownership. At that time, a geologic hazard assessment and a professional engineering peer review were performed. Since then, Tierra Group’s team has provided tailings design and operations management support to Coricancha, which includes designing a dry-stack Tailings Storage Facility and railroad spur and load-out facility in the high Andes (4,300 mamsl). Through our local affiliates in Perú, Tierra Group is providing construction quality assurance services for the dry-stack facility.

Due to Coricancha’s long mining history pre-dating current ownership, in addition to providing operations support, Tierra Group provides considerable advisory assistance with Peruvian regulators including the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), Organization for Investment in Energy and Mining (OSIGNERMIN), and the General Director of Mining (DGM).
