Morelos Mine

Project Highlights:

  • Geotechnical Investigation
  • Stability Analysis
  • Annual Inspection
  • Dry Stack Tailings Monitoring

Tierra Group designed and implemented a stability and safety monitoring plan for Torex Gold’s Morelos Mine dry stack tailings storage facility (TSF). The monitoring plan includes installing inclinometers and vibrating wire piezometers, and training operations staff to download instrumentation readings. Tierra Group analyzed instrumentation data, developed quarterly Monitoring Reports, performed slope stability analysis, and annual inspections to assure the safety and structural stability for the 14,000 tpd (ultimately) dry stack TSF in Guerrero, Mexico.
