Dry Stack Tailings Storage Facility Design

San Albino Mine

Tierra Group is supporting construction of the San Albino Mine in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua. Tierra Group is designing a dry stack drum filtered-tailings storage facility. A siting study is planned to optimize the dry stack location and minimize CAPEX and OPEX. Tierra Group will develop a site-wide water balance and water management plan minimizing contact water for the high rainfall site. Tierra Group, working with Tes-Oro mining engineers is developing a waste rock dump deposition sequence to minimize contact water. Tierra Group’s scope of work includes detailed site characterization, tradeoff studies, hydrology, hydraulics, and geotechnical engineering analyses to support the dry stack tailings design.
