Bolivar Mine

Project Highlights:

  • Tailings Testing
  • Tailings Dewatering
  • Process Design

The Bolivar mine is a 3,000 tonne per day underground mining operation in Chihuahua, Mexico producing copper, zinc, silver, and gold. Space constraints in mountainous terrain require dewatering tailings to reduce required area for tailings storage. Tierra Group is assisting Sierra Metals with process upgrades including tailings dewatering and storage. Tierra Group is completing a conceptual study to determine the most cost effective dewatering solution that fits with the current plant operations and future plans. Engineering design includes specialized tailings testing, flowsheet development, equipment specification, cost estimate, and delivery/construction schedule estimation.
