Black Butte Copper Project

Tierra Group performed a third-party design review of a Cemented Tailings Facility (CTF) and multiple process and freshwater ponds. Tailings will be mixed with cement at the planned paste plant and deposited in the CTF along with underground mine development rock. Protecting the robust liner system from haul truck traffic presented a unique challenge. A customized development rock and tailings deposition plan was developed so that thickened cement amended tailings can be deposited in cold temperatures without complex and costly equipment. Tierra Group has taken on the Engineer of Record responsibility for the proposed CTF and process ponds.
