Dry Stack Tailings Options Analysis

Tierra Group performed an independent TSF expansion engineering design peer review. The review resulted in cost savings ($650,000) without compromising the facility's design integrity over the original design. Tierra Group also provided full-time CQA. Tierra Group led a multi-disciplined team to complete a scoping study evaluating tailings filtering for dry stack storage and its use in underground paste backfill. Multiple dry stack layouts were completed, and recommendations were made based on construction costs and operational criteria. The scoping study results provided the necessary data for underground mine expansion planning. Tierra Group also provided CQA services while constructing a 70-m rockfill tailings dam.

Annual Dam Safety Inspections

Tierra Group performed annual DSI’s and updated two dams' water and mass balance. A geotechnical instrumentation review and analysis were also performed.
