Lagunas Norte Mine

Project Highlights:

  • Water Management

The Lagunas Norte Mine, operated by Barrick Misquichilca S.A., is an open pit gold mine located in the Quiruvilca district, Santiago de Chuco province, La Libertad department, Perú. The main study objective was to evaluate the volume of effluent discharge at each gauging station. To meet this objective, a control section was defined through the flow structure and flow measurements obtained to develop a head flow discharge (H-Q) curve. Tierra Group’s Team recorded flow and water levels through each structure bi-monthly, processed the information and provided reports to Barrick.
