Tierra Group fue contratado por Silver Standard Resources (SSR) para participar como parte de un equipo de consultores en un estudio de factibilidad definitiva para el proyecto Pitarrilla en Durango, México. Dentro del alcance del trabajo de Tierra Group estuvo el diseño de un nuevo Depósito de relaves de 112 Mt, que incluye el diseño civil y geotécnico, así como también el desarrollo de un plan general de gestión de aguas del sitio. La comprensión por parte de Tierra Group de las regulaciones mexicanas (SEMARNAT NOM-141 y otras) fue esencial durante el proceso de diseño. El trabajo en el proyecto comenzó en febrero de 2012 y se completó en septiembre de 2012.
