Ernesto e Pau-a-Pique

The Ernesto e Pau-a-Pique (EPP) Mine is located in the Municipality of Pontes e Lacerda, at 440 kms west of Cuiba City, Brazil. The mine is operated by Apoena Mining, a subsidiary of Aura Minerals Inc. Tierra Group was retained by Aura to perform verification of the current physical stability of the EPP tailings dam. The work also included review of the phase 1 design (already built) and phase 2 design. Tierra Group provided recommendations to update the phase 2 design. A field geotechnical investigation was conducted to validate geotechnical foundation parameters and install additional geotechnical instrumentation.
