Tierra Group performed an initial site visit to Coeur Mining’s Palmarejo Mine to conduct dam safety inspections of the tailings storage facility, environmental control dam, water diversion dam, and water diversion channel. Prior to the site visit, Tierra Group reviewed design, construction and operational documents including the Operation Maintenance and Surveillance (OMS) Manual, and Emergency Preparedness/Action Plan. Tierra Group presented a report summarizing their findings and provided recommendation to improve Good Management Practices. Tierra Group also provided a recommended path forward for implementing a Corporate Tailings Stewardship Strategy (TSS) at Palmarejo and other Coeur mines.
